Now, if I start calling these things I'm asking people unpaid positions in my company and put things on the books like that, yes, there's a lot of litigation surrounding that, but people can get organized and just do stuff in big groups, and nobody has to get paid. Families and friends run businesses all the time where nobody is getting paid and its just a passion project. I allowed my judge certification to lapse in the first half of 2017, and bearz stepped down from the mod team at the end of 2017. None of those included any favoritism or influence for the organizers and were, as far as I'm aware, simply the standard contracts offered to every judge. Those typically involved contracts which ran for the duration of the event. While they do offer a preview card most spoiler seasons, that's a thing that many Magic-related sites and content creators get, and doesn't come with any expectation of modding a certain way (and this subreddit's history of letting criticism of WotC run rampant ought to be sufficient proof of that).ġ One current member of the mod team - me - and one former member - twotwobearz - have at various points been 元 judges and been on staff as judges for various major events, both those organized directly by WotC and those organized by other entities including SCG, CFB, and many others. This subreddit was created by a member of the community and its mod team are not WoTC employees 1, nor are we paid by WotC or influenced by WotC. As a reminder, this is primarily about the moderators of their official Twitch channels and possibly other official forums/channels.
